I feel very lucky to be in a position to work with so many amazing, dedicated professionals with a genuine love for children. The Bristol Montessori epitomises my belief that in a very beautiful way children teach us how to love. What I mean, is that life through their eyes is uncomplicated and simple and we can fall in love with the little things all over again.
It's so amazing when we see a child feel a sense of accomplishment. And that's what the Montessori approach is. It's following what's in a child's heart and watching how that joy leads to growth.
Something about me: I have 3 kids who are my world, I have an orange belt in kickboxing and I'm a massive foodie. I should really have a black belt in eating!

After almost 30 years working within childcare, from working with the children to managing a whole setting, I’ve loved it all and thought I’d seen it all! Until I came to The Bristol Montessori. What I can? Wow! It’s just amazing to see such a calm environment with such happy children.
Something about me: I’m a Manchunian through and through and I was once linked to a famous rock star…
Miss Alexandra
Deputy Manager: Level 4 Montessori Diploma
What I love most about the Montessori methodology is the high level of respect for the child and when they graduate, they are incredibly independent.
The main reason for choosing The Bristol Montessori is that is fully embodies the concept of being citizens of the world, the staff and the student body is so diverse that we all learn from each other.
Something about me: I’m originally from South Africa. I came to the UK specifically to work at The Bristol Montessori. I left for the bright lights of London, but came back again like a boomerang!
Miss Madhavi
Montessori Teacher: Level 3 Childcare, International Montessori Diploma
I love that being in an authentic Montessori school allows me to fully immerse myself into the philosophy, just like the children! It gives me an opportunity to explore so many different skills whether it’s dancing, singing or playing some long-forgotten childhood games.
Something about me: To mark any special occasion, I like to create a collage of personalised memories for my friends and family.
Miss Emily
Assistant Deputy Manager and SENDCo: Level 6 PGCE Early Years, Montessori Diploma
Child-led practice has always been my preferred way of working with children so Montessori hits the nail on the head. Having worked in mainstream education, I love seeing the children here working so much more independently and feeling a sense of achievement and progress when they learn to do things for themselves. The children are so friendly and I feel really supported by a brilliant team.
Something about me: I am one of 4 sisters, 3 of us were born in Jamaica, where I went to a Montessori nursery!
Miss Thilini
Montessori Teacher: Level 3 Childcare, International Montessori Diploma
Since discovering Montessori teaching, I began my career as a teacher which I did for 6 years before opening up my own school in Sri Lanka. The freedom that the Montessori philosophy gives children allows us as teachers to learn from them too. It’s a win win! When the opportunity to move to the UK presented itself, I jumped at the chance to work with the fantastic team at The Bristol Montessori.
Something about me: I love to sing and you’ll often find me singing to anyone who will listen!

Miss Nishadi
Montessori Teacher: Level 3 Childcare, International Montessori Diploma
I have a 15 years of Montessori teaching under my belt so working in an authentic Montessori is the most important thing for me. The Bristol Montessori is just that. It gives children the autonomy to take charge of their own learning, to take responsibility for themselves which makes them so independent.
Something about me: I love to learn about different cultures so working in Montessori schools in Sri Lanka, Thailand and the UK has been really helpful to allow me to do that.

Having worked in a variety of schools supporting children with a wide range of additional needs, to visit The Bristol Montessori. I was struck by the calm environment that Montessori offers children which allows them to focus better and learn more. Plus the level of their independence was impressive!
The team is so supportive making it such such a nice place to work.
Something about me: Fun fact about me, I’m a jeweller that loves lamb in all different cuisines.
Miss Kelly
School Support Practitioner
I had my children early in life, at one point I had 4 children under 4! The last two were twins. Working in a school around my children’s needs fit the bill for many years. I spent 14 years doing that and later I became the housekeeper at The Bristol Montessori. I absolutely loved what I saw so I applied for the support role here and haven’t looked back. I just love everything about it, the staff are welcoming, the children are amazing and the setting is just perfect.
Something about me: I used to travel around the world as a dancer and was even World Champion in Rock n Roll in 1991!
Miss Paige
L3 Apprentice
I began my Level 3 Childcare training at college and approached The Bristol Montessori to carry out my placements. After a year of being here, it was clear that this was the right environment for me and I was lucky enough to be offered a full time apprenticeship which I snapped up.
I love the calm environment which makes it perfect for me to learn the ropes. Also, the team is so supportive and they work well as a team. It’s nice to be part of that.
Something about me: My hair is so long that I could easily pass for a mermaid!

Cook and Master Baker!
I’ve spent a lifetime as a cook and a housekeeper, most recently having spent the last 11 years as a housekeeper in a Bristol independent school. I chose to work at The Bristol Montessori because here, you’re made to feel part of a family.
I especially love to bake and love how the children devour the food I cook, always asking me what’s for lunch! I have a gallery of artwork they have made for me which proves it!
Something about me: let me think, I’ll get back to you on this.
